These pages describe how CoveredLoop.com works from a legal and privacy standpoint. By creating an account, purchasing access, or using the service, you agree to the Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy and risk disclosures below.

1. Terms of Service

Agreement. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and CoveredLoop (“CoveredLoop,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of CoveredLoop.com and related applications, dashboards, and services (collectively, the “Service”).

Who we are; where the Service is provided. CoveredLoop is a United States company. The Service is hosted and operated in the United States. We do not currently operate servers in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom. We do not geo-block registration. If you create an account or use the Service from outside the United States (including the EEA or UK), you do so with the understanding that your information is transferred to and processed in the United States as described in the Privacy Policy.

Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

Account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, multi-factor authentication devices, and any devices used to access the Service. You must provide accurate registration information and promptly update it. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

License. Subject to these Terms and your payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal or internal business purposes. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or provide the Service to third parties as a competing product, except as allowed by law.

Acceptable use. You agree not to: (a) misuse the Service or attempt unauthorized access; (b) interfere with security, rate limits, or infrastructure; (c) scrape or harvest data beyond normal product use; (d) upload malware or unlawful content; (e) use the Service for illegal trading, market manipulation, or fraud; or (f) violate applicable law or third-party rights.

Not a broker-dealer or adviser. CoveredLoop is a software analytics platform. We are not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, commodity trading advisor, exchange, clearing firm, or fiduciary. We do not execute trades, hold customer funds or securities, or provide personalized investment advice. Trade execution and custody remain solely with your brokerage (for example, Tradier) under their terms.

Intellectual property. The Service, including software, design, trademarks, and content we provide, is owned by CoveredLoop or its licensors. Sample portfolio data is fictional or illustrative and may not reflect real markets.

Suspension & termination. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, fail to pay required fees, pose a security risk, or if we discontinue the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account-related assistance at info@coveredloop.com.

Disclaimers. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that data from third parties (including brokers or market data sources) is complete, accurate, or timely. Market prices shown in the Service follow the refresh schedule in Section 4 (Investment & Risk Disclosure). Those figures are deemed reliable for informational use but are not guaranteed.

Limitation of liability. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COVEREDLOOP AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, TRADING LOSSES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

Indemnity. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CoveredLoop from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, your brokerage connection, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, U.S.A., without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Pennsylvania shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law requires otherwise. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory protections of the country in which you live; nothing in these Terms limits those non-waivable rights.

Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CoveredLoop (“CoveredLoop,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use CoveredLoop.com. CoveredLoop is the controller of personal information processed through the Service. We are established in the United States. Contact: info@coveredloop.com.

Information we collect.

  • Account data: name, email address, password (stored hashed), multi-factor authentication settings, sign-in method (email, Google, or X), and membership status.
  • Payment data: payment is processed by Square. We receive limited payment metadata (for example payment status, payment reference, coupon, plan, and receipt URL). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Brokerage connection data: when you connect Tradier (or a future supported broker) via official OAuth, we store encrypted access tokens and related account identifiers needed to retrieve portfolio information you authorize. We do not store your brokerage password.
  • Portfolio & product data: holdings, trades, balances, notes, watchlists, alerts, aliases, and preferences you generate or import (including sample portfolio mode).
  • Communications: support messages, report emails you request, and any CC addresses you add for account-level alerts.
  • Technical & usage data: IP address, browser/user agent, device signals, security logs, and product events used for security, fraud prevention, debugging, and service improvement.

How we use information. We use data to provide and improve the Service, authenticate users, process payments, connect to broker APIs you authorize, display analytics, send transactional email you request, enforce security and rate limits, prevent abuse, comply with law, and communicate about the Service.

Legal bases (EEA/UK). Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal information on these bases:

  • Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): creating and running your account, membership, brokerage connection, and the product features you use.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): securing the Service, preventing fraud and abuse, debugging, and improving the product, balanced against your rights.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): optional cookies/analytics (see Cookies) and any other processing we ask you to opt into. You may withdraw consent without affecting prior lawful processing.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): tax, accounting, security, and other duties that apply to us.

We do not use your portfolio data to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. Analytics in the app are informational tools you operate, not credit, employment, or eligibility scoring.

Who we share with. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as needed to operate the Service:

  • Hosting and infrastructure in the United States (application hosting, storage, CDN/edge, and security tooling).
  • Payments: Square, to process membership charges and refunds.
  • Brokerage: Tradier, and any future broker you choose to connect, solely for the OAuth connection and API access you authorize. We do not send your CoveredLoop data to brokers you have not connected.
  • Email: our transactional email provider (currently Resend) to send the messages you configure (for example fills, reports, password reset).
  • Sign-in: Google or X, only if you choose those authentication methods.
  • Operations: logging/observability providers used to keep the Service reliable and secure; professional advisers; authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Future brokers or vendors will be added only when required for a feature you can use, under a contract that restricts them to processing on our instructions.

Where data is stored. CoveredLoop’s application servers and primary databases are in the United States. We do not currently store customer data in the EEA or the UK. Some vendors may operate global infrastructure (for example an anycast CDN). Using the Service from the EEA or UK means your personal information is transferred to the United States. See Section 3.

Security. We use industry-standard measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encryption of brokerage tokens at rest, encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, session protections, and multi-factor authentication options. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Retention. We retain account and transaction records while your account is active. After you close your account or request deletion we delete or irreversibly anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep a limited record for tax, accounting, dispute, security, or other legal purposes.

Your choices and rights. You may update preferences in the app, disconnect your brokerage connection, enable MFA, or contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability where applicable law provides those rights. See Section 3 for EEA/UK GDPR rights and how to exercise them. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA; contact us to exercise them. We do not discriminate for exercising privacy rights.

Children. The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes. We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page.

3. EEA, UK & international users

This section applies if you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, or if EU GDPR or UK GDPR otherwise applies to our processing of your information. It supplements Section 2.

US-only hosting is allowed. GDPR and UK GDPR do not require us to store your data in the EEA or the UK. They do require a lawful basis (Section 2), transparency, security, respect for your rights, and a valid mechanism when personal data is transferred outside those regions.

International transfers. When you use CoveredLoop from the EEA or UK, personal information is transferred to the United States (and processed by the vendors listed in Section 2). We rely on one or more of:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission, and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum / IDTA, with our processors;
  • the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the UK-US Data Bridge, where we or a relevant processor is certified;
  • other lawful transfer tools permitted by Chapter V of the GDPR / UK GDPR (for example a transfer that is necessary to perform a contract with you).

We do not sell EEA or UK personal data. We do not share it with anyone other than the processors and brokers required for the Service to function, professional advisers, or authorities as described above.

Your GDPR / UK GDPR rights. Subject to legal limits, you may request:

  • access to your personal data, and a copy in a portable format;
  • correction of inaccurate data;
  • erasure (“right to be forgotten”) where an exception does not apply;
  • restriction of, or objection to, certain processing;
  • withdrawal of consent, where processing is based on consent;
  • not to be subject to solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects (we do not do this).

To exercise these rights you may (1) use our representative’s secure portal (below), or (2) email info@coveredloop.com from the address on your account and tell us what you need. We will respond within one month (or explain if we need more time, up to the period the law allows). We may need to verify it is you. Some records (for example completed payments) may be retained where the law requires it.

Article 27 representatives (EU and UK). CoveredLoop is not established in the EEA or the United Kingdom. We have appointed separate Article 27 representatives. An EU representative does not cover the UK, and a UK representative does not cover the EU.

Complaints. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). In the EEA, use the authority of the country where you live or work. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first at info@coveredloop.com.

4. Investment & Risk Disclosure

No investment advice. Content on the Service—including dashboards, charts, performance metrics, sample portfolios, strategy views (covered calls, credit spreads), and educational material—is for informational and analytical purposes only. Nothing on CoveredLoop constitutes investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or options contract.

Options trading risk. Options involve substantial risk and are not suitable for all investors. You can lose more than your initial investment in some strategies. Past performance, including any returns shown in sample or live data, does not guarantee future results. You should carefully consider whether trading is appropriate in light of your experience, objectives, financial resources, and risk tolerance.

Market price update frequency. While a page that shows equity, P&L, Today, positions, or quotes is open, CoveredLoop re-reads the server about every 15 seconds during pre-market, the regular session, and after-hours (about 4:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. America/New_York on a trading day), and about every 5 minutes overnight, on weekends, and on market holidays. A hidden tab pauses. Showing the tab again reads at once. This is a display refresh. It does not place orders or rewrite the saved book. Sync now stays optional.

  • Every portfolio (Sample, Manual, Paper, and Live): the same 15-second session read and 5-minute overnight read. The clocks on those pages share one last-read time.

Reliability; not guaranteed. These intervals and the prices, quotes, balances, day change, P&L, and strategy groupings shown in the Service are deemed reliable for informational and analytical use, but they are not guaranteed. Data may be delayed, incomplete, estimated, stale, or unavailable because of vendor, network, session, or system conditions. CoveredLoop is not a source of record. Always verify critical information with your broker of record before making trading decisions.

Data limitations. Analytics also depend on data from your broker and third-party sources beyond the refresh schedule above. Strategy groupings may be estimated. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Your responsibility. You alone are responsible for your trading decisions and for compliance with your broker’s agreements, exchange rules, and applicable securities laws.

5. Brokerage Connections (Tradier)

CoveredLoop may allow you to connect a Tradier brokerage account through Tradier’s official third-party / OAuth authorization flow. By connecting, you authorize CoveredLoop to access account information permitted by the scopes you approve (for example balances, positions, and history) in order to display analytics in the Service.

We store OAuth tokens using encryption at rest and do not collect your brokerage password. You may disconnect at any time in Settings, which removes stored connection credentials from CoveredLoop. Tradier’s own terms, privacy policy, and customer agreements govern your brokerage relationship; CoveredLoop is independent of Tradier.

Sample portfolio mode lets you explore the product without connecting a live account. Sample data is illustrative only.

6. Payments & Refunds

CoveredLoop offers live Tradier access through paid membership plans: monthly, annual, or lifetime one-time. Current list prices are published on the site ($29/mo · $199/yr · $499 lifetime) and the amount charged is confirmed at checkout. Coupons may apply. Sample and manual portfolios remain free within free-tier limits. Membership payments are processed by Square. Applicable taxes may apply depending on your location and Square’s configuration.

Because access is digital and may be used immediately after payment, fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we determine a refund is appropriate (for example a confirmed duplicate charge). Contact info@coveredloop.com within a reasonable time if you believe a billing error occurred. Monthly and annual plans grant access for the paid period; lifetime plans grant ongoing access after payment unless terminated under these Terms.

Administrators may grant or revoke membership access for operational or support reasons. Revocation for abuse or Terms violations does not automatically create a refund obligation unless required by law.

7. Cookies, Sessions & Similar Technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences (such as theme), protect against cross-site abuse, and maintain session security. Essential cookies are required for the Service to function. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in or break core features.

Your choices. When you first visit CoveredLoop, we show a cookie banner so you can Accept all, choose Essential only, or customize optional categories (functional preferences and analytics). You can reopen these controls anytime via Cookie settings in the site footer. Optional analytics tools, including Google Analytics (GA4), are not loaded unless you accept that category. If you choose Essential only or turn Analytics off, we do not initialize Google Analytics tags.

We may also record security and product event logs (for example sign-in, payment status, broker connect, and rate-limit events) to operate and protect the Service. Admin users may review aggregated operational logs as part of site administration.
