Research that lands in the same book

Most screeners stop at a ticker list. CoveredLoop research is built for options sellers who want the next step inside the same app: rank an idea, look at a chain, run what-if, save a watch, and add a sample or manual trade that already knows whether it is a covered call, a wheel put, or a credit spread.

The screener is a decision-support tool, not a signal service. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell a security. Filters can be wrong, delayed, or incomplete. Past premiums are not future premiums. Read the risk disclosures and treat every idea as something you still have to underwrite.

What you can screen

Screen the listed universe with price, volume, technical, and option-premium filters. Choose the columns you actually use; the selection stays persistent so you are not rebuilding the same layout every session. Rank covered-call, wheel, and credit-spread ideas by estimated return when you want a first cut — then open the name rather than trusting a single rank.

From a name you can open a live or estimated option chain and extend strikes up or down when the default grid does not reach the strike you have in mind. Market news for the symbol sits in the same research area so you are not bouncing to a second tab for a headline scan.

What-if before it is a fill

What-if analysis lets you sketch a covered call, cash-secured put, or spread and see how CoveredLoop would represent it as a structure: premium, net investment or return on capital, and the fields that later appear on the covered-call or credit-spread card. That is useful when you are learning the product and when you are checking whether a roll still fits the lot you already hold.

Add the setup to Sample or Manual in one click. Sample is the fastest way to see dashboard tiles, P&L, and metrics populate from a research idea. Manual is for typing your own book. Neither path requires a credit card.

Watch lists and alerts

Save names to a watch list and keep the sort you last chose — by tag, symbol, or whatever column you actually use. Price alerts fire in CoveredLoop and by email when a stock or option trades through your level. From an alert you can jump to the chart or the chain instead of starting the search over.

Watch lists are not a substitute for a blotter. Open risk still lives on the strategy pages and the dashboard. Research is the on-ramp; the book is the source of truth.

How research fits Tradier and paper

On Sample and Manual, research uses CoveredLoop market data. When a Tradier live or paper book is selected, chains and tickets follow that connection. Paper is a separate sandbox: an amber banner stays on, orders go only to paper, live cash is untouched. Combined P&L leaves paper out unless you include that book.

You can place a Tradier ticket from an idea after you have refined it. If something in the ticket does not match the structure (for example a close that still needs a mark), the product is supposed to pull market data for the easy-to-read option symbol — not a raw OCC string you have to decode by eye.

See it, then try the sample book

The research clip on What We Offer is the two-minute version of this page. Desk notes live on Insights. Pricing is simple: full product on Sample for free, a small Manual cap on the free tier, Tradier live on a paid plan. Create an account and run a screen against the sample portfolio before you connect anything.
